Academic Coaching vs. Tutoring
"Give a student a tutor and his homework is done for a day. Coach students to manage their work and themselves, and they will be effective for a lifetime."
- Beyond Booksmart proverb
While academic coaching includes elements of traditional tutoring, the goals and process of academic coaching reach further and deeper to teach students to become more effective learners, not simply to survive the crisis of the day. Using current school challenges as a springboard, we teach students executive function skills that help them develop the habits that allow them to succeed in school and beyond.

Academic Coaching
By employing foundational tools, often taken for granted in school, students can learn skills and strategies that will help them become confident independent learners, no matter what subject they are tackling. Academic coaching is beneficial for all ages and grade levels and concentrates on meeting students where they are developmentally, goal setting, identifying barriers to academic success and teaching effective strategies and skills o overcome these roadblocks.
