Corie Wilson
College Planning Consultant & Academic Coach
Corie Wilson, is a native of Atlanta, Georgia and possesses a diverse background in education and counseling. After working in project management for several years at The Home Depot corporate office, she left to pursue her dream of helping others achieve their goals. She focused on learning and development while completing her B.A. in Psychology at Georgia State University and went on to earn her M.A. in Professional Counseling from Liberty University.
Corie put her counseling skills to use at Georgia State University by working in admission department. There, she advised incoming students and assisted them with the admissions process for the Department of Education undergraduate and graduate programs. While working at GSU Corie observed that many incoming students did not have the skills and resources needed for college level work. The frustration of both the students and professors prompted Corie to consider solutions for this phenomena. She decided to start with her own children and left GSU to homeschool them.

While homeschooling, Corie directed middle and high school programs for an international home school program, Classical Conversations. In addition to managing the programs, she also tutored students in a variety of subjects including English Grammar, Writing, Math fundamentals, Algebra, U.S. History, Latin, and Formal Logic. As a volunteer for Junior Achievement she instructed courses focusing on leadership, public speaking, entrepreneurship, and money management in Atlanta public schools.

Once her children reached high school level, Corie drew upon her own experience in and knowledge of college admissions to develop a grade by grade plan for college readiness. Along the way she began to help other homeschoolers and private and public school students map out a plan for college. She also partnered with KIPP Atlanta Collegiate High School, through Princeton review, as a certified test prep instructor. As the founder of Paratus, Corie continues to work with students, families and youth organizations.
